Many bicycles will not shift or track properly because the front and rear wheels are not in line with the frame. If these conditions still exist after wheel and derailleur adjustments, the seat stays, chain stays, and rear drop outs of the frame may be misaligned. For years the accepted method to check the alignment of the rear drop-out was to run a string on either side. This method does work to some extent. However, it is not accurate because the measurement is not taken at the drop-out. With the Park Tool Frame Alignment Gauge, the alignment can be checked quickly and accurately at the drop-out. Improperly aligned frame or fork dropouts can cause bent axles and quick-release skewers, as well as tracking and shifting problems. The Frame and Fork End Alignment Gauge Set quickly determines whether the frame or fork dropouts are aligned and parallel. If an error is detected, long handles and comfortable molded grips afford plenty of leverage for straightening. These Park gauges adjust to compensate for various hub widths from 100mm to 160mm, too.

Park Tool's Frame and Fork Straightener is a versatile and productive tool. Its open hook design enables it to straighten not only frames and forks, but also cranks and handlebars and it features vinyl coating on the hook and fulcrum pad to protect painted surfaces. The FFS-2's hook offers 8 inches of fore-aft adjustment and can fit a frame or fork tube of up to 1-3/4 inches in diameter.
