Details

Trek's Procaliber 9.8 SL will make you think you died and went to XC heaven. It boasts a full-carbon frame with Trek's ingenious IsoSpeed decoupler that basically makes this the speediest softtail you've ever ridden, since more comfort means more performance. Up front, the RockShox SID RL fork tracks immaculately through the toughest lines. Ditto for the tubeless DT Swiss wheel, which accelerate quickly at the slightest push of the SRAM X1/X01 1x11 drivetrain. Throw in Shimano Deore XT discs and solid Bontrager Race X Lite carbon bars, and you're on way to cross country heaven.

Demo bikes were used in trade show displays, media reviews, or test-ridden by dealers at Trek's headquarters. All demo bikes have been cleaned, tuned, and inspected by our mechanics and include the full manufacturer's warranty.

Smart Wheel Size

Trek's E2 head tube is 1 1/2 inches in diameter at the bottom and 1 1/8 inches at the top. This maximizes front-end stiffness for awesome steering precision and control, while allowing the use of standard 1 1/8-inch stems and not adding much weight.
Trek's G2 Geometry (version 2 of Gary Fisher's Genesis Geometry) delivers the ultimate ride for every trail. Genesis earned rave reviews for awesome handling on climbs and descents thanks to a long top tube paired with a short stem that moves the front wheel forward for top-notch confidence and control, while short chainstays add phenomenal traction. G2 Geometry takes these handling traits to the next level by boosting control on tight singletrack and technical climbs, too. This is accomplished by increasing the amount of fork offset (reducing trail), which makes G2 bikes steer more quickly, and by shortening the reach, which puts more weight on the front wheel for even better control and confidence.
