This hands on class is an introduction to bicycle mechanics in general and covers the maintenance procedures needed to tune up your bike. It is designed for beginners with no mechanical experience but also offers an in depth and comprehensive foundation for the intermediate mechanic looking to take the the Bicycle Overhaul Class. Even an advanced mechanic could probably learn a thing or two from this class. Students will learn proper mechanical techniques along with how to adjust brakes, adjust gears, adjust all major bearing systems and wheel truing. Students will need to bring their own bikes to use for the class.
This class takes place at our Midtown Bike Center, located on the Greenway.

This was a great class and Alex is a fantastic teacher. I am no longer afraid of my derailleur and feel like I can make basic adjustments with confidence. I liked this class so much I plan on taking more classes. Not only is Alex great but the entire Freewheel staff was friendly, relaxed and made me feel welcome and comfortable.
I have used this class to make my wife's bike run much better. Confident I can do a basic wheel truing, wheel bearing adjustment and drive train adjustments. Thanks Pete.
