      Comments:

For context, I was riding a older Cervelo Soloist with a pair of Krysrium wheels until I bought a pair of Zipp 303 Firecrest clinchers and they rubbed the chainstays. So I bought a new bike as well. To be clear, this review is based on the Madone frame and Zipp wheels and everything I'm about to say is qualitative. I was surprised to feel that the bike seems to transfer power to the rear wheel more efficiently than my old bike. It just seemed snappier and more responsive. Second, the chip seal and gravel sections of my ride were noticeably less harsh than usual. So maybe there is something more than marketing to this "laterally stiff but vertically compliant" stuff. The integrated brakes are a bit fussy to set up and centering them takes more thought usual. The handlebars that came with this bike were useless to me. Sprinting in the drops caused me to bang my forearms into the top part of the bar. So I switched those out for a pair with a shorter reach. All in all, I'm pretty pleased with the new bike.

The 6.2 is a fantastic bike. I purchased my 6.2 with SRAM Force after riding an upgraded 1.1 for 6 months and riding a loaner 6.9 for a week. I ride 150 to 200 miles per week in the hill country and the bike is great at everything. I recently purchased the tubeless setup as well which has allowed me to ride dirt and gravel roads with less worries - only one minor puncture in the last 1500 miles and that sealed itself and the punctured tire continues to function flawlessly.

I just had mine delivered and so far so good. Getting an extra four kmh on an average ride. The only downside is the shimano ultegra compact set which is a bit clunky for a bike of this price. Being very tall I love the 64cm frame.

I am new to road biking and wanted a bike that would get me excited to ride everyday. I almost doubled my speed from my old steel bike. I have already done 130 miles in 30 days of ownership compared to about 130 miles total last year. It's fun to ride, comfortable, (I got the H3), Fast, stable. I am up to 29 mile rides now compared to 5-15 mile rides last year. The frame is very light and stiff, yet absorbs road vibrations very well. On the down side, I have recieved a couple of chips in the paint from stones being thrown up on the frame. I also had to try a couple seats until I tried the 138mm affinity and it fits right. It is a fantastic bike and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to get a really nice bike and have a fun bike to ride. From beginner like me to an expert that rides 5,000 miles a year.

                        Comments:

Let me start by saying that this is a wonderful bike and I probably don't deserve it. I started riding about 1.5 years ago and didn't want to spent a whole lot on my first bike. I bought a really nice, used caad with Dura Ace stuff; but about 10 years old. I saw that I was going to stick with riding, so I figured it was time for a new ride. I wanted something that I could grow into and that I would be physically drawn to. I also preferred a US built (not big into that, but I was real happy with my older US built bike). After a sizing discrepency on a clearance model got me into a LBS, they said they could do a really good deal on the 6.2... the exact color scheme I showed my wife as 'my ideal ride'. It was at the very top of my budget, but the LBS were able to make it more affordable for me. For the first time, I had a professional detail fitting... and can I say, between the two items: WOW! I've been on (2) relatively short rides for a total of about 40 miles and I am nothing short of impressed. Riding the same routes as my old bike, I have jumped 1.5 MPH on my average. And I can tell as well. It physically feels like I'm flying compared to before. I am a slower rider, but I'm now into the 17 MPH range. My bike weighs 17.00 pounds with (2) plastic bottle cages, 105 pedals, and the duo trap and Node 1 all installed. This Ultegra stuff is 2 generations newer than my old DA (7700) and I would say it is at least equivalent or better. The carbon body does not kill me over little potholes and bumps like my caad does. And, so far, I am impressed with the seat. At the SRP, I would say that this is worth it, but if you are fortunate enough to do a little better than SRP, this is a steal.

These frames are a real joy to ride.I choose Sram force and DuraAce tubeless wheels. Both of which have worked out very well. Very strong, light and stiff. The bike reacts responsively but is also very comfortable. It climbs like a Goat and decends fast and stable. The H2 geometry is perfect for weekend warriors like myself. The best thing about this bike is sitting with your LBS to choose all the parts.Trek really has it together with there dealers. Great experience with my Trek dealer. Get one now!

This is one smooth racing machine. I built it up from the frameset with all DA componenets, and it was like building your own Formula One race car! The technologies are highly focused and integrated to function seamlessly. The quality of the carbon is hands above the rest - Made in the USA! The 50 cm frame fits me better than any other 700c frame tested (short male racer at 5'4"). Very solid performance at high speed/efforts.

Trek really nailed it with the Madone 6 series. The bike responds great - when you stomp the pedals, the bike goes. Very comfortable ride, even on longer distances. I can feel the difference, both in weight and responsiveness, between my Madone and my other bike (Ti). My only complaint was with the Ultegra tubeless rear wheel, which wouldn't hold true. My LBS retensioned and retrued and the wheel has been fine since (Velo News reported a similar problem with the wheelset).
